There are many sides to Thetford Forest, all of which are currently under threat from the ongoing Government spending review. Whilst the original plans for a complete sale of the Public Estate have been put on hold as a direct result of the countrywide campaign against such an idea, it has appointed a 'Panel of Experts' to review all aspects of the estate.

The Friends Of Thetford Forest (FOTF) firmly believes that the Forestry Commission is the best custodian of the UK Forests, and should not be subject to such severe resource cuts to make it impossible for it to continue in this role, and the following pages outline our reasons and the actions we are taking to highlight this to the panel.
